Mount Kineo – A Fun Maine Adventure, A Moosehead Lake Must See – Hike, Bike, Swim, Golf, Picnic –  Historical, cultural and beautiful, this is a great experience – During the season, shuttle boat departs daily from Rockwood.

 

Lily Bay State Park – Nature Trails, Wildlife, Bike, Swim, Golf, Campfire Picnic - Lily Bay State Park is less than six miles from LakeFront Getaway at Moosehead Lake just off Lily Bay Road, Nature trails fun to explore with wildlife sightings too.

 

Moose Watching - Drive yourself up Lily Bay Road north towards Kokadjo, or towards Rockwood on the west side of the lake. Keep an eye open - you never know when you'll see moose or deer! If you would rather have a guided tour, there are many guides for moose tours in the area. Reservations are required to ensure availability for this private guided Maine Tours. Moose Tours into Moose Country are offered daily. Undoubtedly a highlight of your trip to Moosehead Lake, is observing a MOOSE up close in its natural habitat.

 

Fishing & Ice Fishing - Fish from the dock at the Cabins, drive to Surrounding Lakes, Rivers and Streams, or book a guided Maine fishing trip. Fishing is great fun thing to do at Moosehead for the entire family with a stocked pond for kids to fish just few miles away. There are several great guides in Greenville.

Snowmobiling - Enjoy easy access to the trails and the lake from LakeFront Getaway at Moosehead Lake. Bring your own snowmobiles, or rent one in town at one of the local rental shops.

ATV/UTV - Easy trailer access to trailheads in Greenville Junction or Kokadjo and beyond. Bring your own machine, or contact one of the local rental shops for rates.

 

Moosehead Lake Hiking - there are so many hiking trails to choose from, for all ages & aptitudes. Hiking is a fun Maine adventure for everyone. Hike the famous Appalachian Trail. Go to the B-52 Crash Site for an easy hike.

Moosehead from the water - canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, boats, jetskis - you can find them all at Moosehead Lake! Whitewater rafting more your thing? Moosehead is located between the Kennebec & Penobscot Rivers, offering a whitewater experience for everyone!

  • Canoeing and Kayaking - Paddle directly from the dock to explore the Sandy Bay area of Moosehead Lake. Enjoy fun family paddling adventures, explore Moosehead Lake coves, glacial boulders while enjoying spectacular scenery, loons and ducks. You can rent a kayak, canoe, paddleboard from many locations around Moosehead Lake. 

  • Boating - Bring your boat (or rent one) and enjoy the 120 miles of shoreline that Moosehead has to offer! Moosehead Lake covers 74,890 acres, and is one of the largest fresh water lakes in the United States. Moosehead Lake is also the largest lake east of the Mississippi contained within one state and is home to over 80 islands.  Maine Boating Laws.

  • Moosehead Lake Scenic Boat Tour on The Katahdin - This is a great way to spend a day at Moosehead Lake. A  fun thing to do with the kids and great for all ages as this sightseeing trip is low impact making it ideal for seniors too. Departs from downtown Greenville, Maine.

Moosehead from the sky - if airplanes are your thing, we have many seaplanes (all year round!) at Moosehead Lake. There are several guides where you can book a flight over the lake. In September (the weekend after Labor Day), Moosehead is home to the International Seaplane Fly-In.

Golf - 2 Golf Courses and a driving range are in driving distance from the Cabins. 

B-52 Crash Site - A B-52 bomber crashed on Elephant Mountain during training maneuvers in January 1963. The crash site has been preserved and is an easy hike in the spring, summer & fall, as well as accessible via snowmobile during the winter.

 

Shopping - Shop in the quaint downtown Greenville, you'll find something for everyone on your list - and yourself! Just a sample of the local stores. There are many more stores, also.
